Dale Jenkins is affiliated with Americans for a Stronger Navy, a community-driven and membership-supported organization whose mission is to inform, inspire, and involve citizens in advocating for a stronger U.S. Navy. Americans for a Stronger Navy firmly believes that a stronger navy is necessary to protect American interests and project American power abroad. Dale is proud to serve as a Senior Advisor to this excellent organization.
A strong US Navy is necessary to deter potential aggressors, protect sea lanes of communication, ensure access to resources and markets, and provide humanitarian aid in times of crisis. Eighty years ago, President Roosevelt responded to isolationists who thought we were safe behind oceans on our east and west coasts by pointing out that the oceans themselves had become battlegrounds. In the ensuing years it has become clear that the entire world is one large, dynamic, interconnected system, 70% covered by water. As the economies of the world have grown, international trade has grown even faster. The security of this trade, our economy, and our way of life is dependent on a strong US Navy.
Americans for a Stronger Navy has organized webinars and podcasts that feature naval experts, analysts, and practitioners who share their insights and perspectives on current and emerging issues. Currently in the works are outreach and educational programs. Conferences and book launches are on the visible horizon. As Bill Cullifer, founder of Americans for a Stronger Navy has stated, “Our mission is to inform, inspire, and involve citizens in advocating for a formidable naval force.”
Americans for a Stronger Navy works to realize our collective goals by mobilizing a community of individuals who are passionate about the need for a strong Navy, who advocate for policies and legislation that strengthen the Navy’s capabilities, and who actively support the organization. More information is available at the organization’s website, StrongerNavy.org. By staying informed and actively engaged, you can help shape the future of our naval forces and, by extension, our nation’s security and prosperity.
“To be prepared for war is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace.” —George Washington, First Annual Address to both houses of Congress, January 8, 1790
